| Stage 2 The shield is drawn as though behind the sword a week or so later so as to allow adequate healing time. Notice the sword is slightly faded? This shows that it is an old tattoo, but it's still vivid. Lines can be kept clear and black through regular use of Tattoo Goo™ |

Stage 3 Next, Jimmy added a spear behind the foreground object. Its shadow joins that of the shield's underneath to show continuity. |

| Stage 4 The final image. A different colour is used here so as not to over-complicate and take away from the weapons drawn first. It symbolises the spirit of the warrior, so is more ethereal in quality. |
